    This game is awesome!
I only have one complaint, 2 times I have had the game freeze… once while sitting on the menu and once while checking a message.
Just thought you’d like to know.

Okay, the “elephant in the room” first: It seems there is no Slender “clone” on XBLIG yet, so I have not much problem with White Noise :-). Disclaimer: I do not really play horror games because I am a coward, hehe. So I never started Slender and quit SCP087 after some seconds.

I just played a few minutes: Graphics seem fine and atmospheric, the landscape, too. If you illuminate an object, there is a strange/buggy (?) shadow behind it.

I found two tape recorders, more by accident – as far as I understand, the noise of them leads the way? I did not really heard it until I was standing in front of them. At the game start, the buttons are shown, but the “A” button for taking the recorders is missing there, IMO.

I had no “minor” encounters like the tweeted reaction video, but suddenly the monster was there, I got frightened (I guess more because of the audio), then laughed about the effect on me and totally forgot to react ingame – You are dead :-).

So all in all: I think it’s a competent scary game. Don’t know how long the effect will stay or how much variation the game offers.

PS: Good to have an Invert Y Axis option from the start. It is a bit irritating that looking up/down is quite slower then left/right. But it seems you don’t really need to look much up/down.

Thank you so much for this game! I’ve been dying to have a Slender game on Xbox but I am sure the original developers have no plan for it. I even keep asking on their Facebook page about it. My friends and I always play this on my laptop but we need this game on the bigger screen. When I heard about this game, I freaked out! Can’t wait to download it later.

    how uses codes in games?

  • WaaghMan says:

Thank you for the report. We’ve not experienced the freeze ourselves, but will be on the look for them.

  • WaaghMan says:

Thank you for the positive reception about the clone thing. It’s not exactly the same as Sushi Castle (this time we just went for the opportunity, in Sushi Castle we just wanted to make that game).

The shadow that objects project is supposedly an acurate shadow based on the flashlight position. It may do strange things on rare cases, but should work fine almost always.

Yes, the tape recorders emit a positional sound that you can use to detect them easier. The “A” button is mentioned at game start. We opted not to show the button again when near the tape recorders, anyway A is the most usual button…

Obviously, the game can lose its “scariness” if you play it frequently, but since it’s pretty difficult (I personally win around 50% of the time and know all the tricks the monster can do… But I don’t know the map layout yet, really!), there’s always some amount of tension when going for the last tapes…

  • WaaghMan says:

Right now, the code shown in White Noise can’t be used in other games. An update for Avatar Farm Online, with unlockable content for White Noise, is undergoing approval right now.

  • MEGALOVERSURVIVALHORROR says:

Ok but for little street racer? Make a menu to generate codes please. the other games dont have code.

  • WaaghMan says:

Little Racers STREET should have a Bonus Content option in the main menu where the code is generated.

Right now, 2 games of ours have unlockable content with codes: Avatar Farm Online (new themed decorations) and Firing Range 2 (new camos).

Once again an awesome Milkstone game, scary atmosphere and smooth graphics. Perfect game to play with decent headphones at 3 a.m. in a dark room πŸ˜€
80 MSP goes again to my favorite Indie game developers.
    And WhatΒ΄s next? A Sumotori Dreams port maybe… πŸ˜‰

  • Quadley says:

I played the demo and purchased this game. Great looking graphics and scenery after realizing that collecting tape recorders was as far it went it became a little disappointing to be honest though for 80mp i feel far from ripped off. Would have been nice to have a little bit of melee combat thrown in there. Maybe the chance to repel the monster by pushing a button (combination of buttons) and if you had failed an animation of the monster biting you or something.

  • alex says:

awesome game play and nice graphics, this game deserves a rate at 5 stars. I must agree that this game is more scarier than “slender” due to the creepy statues and basic story line… but I have a few suggestions.

me and my friend on Xbox likes this game together so we can hear our reactions, but I was thinking that maybe you guys could add a “multiplayer”

like for ex. leader boards on which has the best time and tape recorders collected, add an option to play together. it might be a different story like your pal is going to investigate the place together. I’m not trying to ruin the game but these are suggestions that i’d would like to be in the game

if you could have it, I’l be so happy

    thank you

  • alex says:

why a melee combat? next thing you’ll know you might think of guns.

  • WaaghMan says:

Yeah, once you get the 8 tape recorders there’s not much more to do. We’re going to push an update with unlockable content (after finishing the game) that will hopefully improve the overall experience.

  • WaaghMan says:

Multiplayer requires a very delicate balancing to make the game interesting and still scary. We’ll see what we can do about it, but it’s not our top priority.

  • Quadley says:

forgive me i have been playing through Oblivion again recently…

  • Trey Yawn says:

How do u type in the bonus content code

  • Quadley says:

    Thumbs up

  • Trey Yawn says:

Yeah It happend to me too

  • WaaghMan says:

Right now only Avatar Farm Online has unlockable content from other games, but the update with the White Noise content is still pending approval. It should be approved by this weekend.

I recently bought this game and I can say that without a doubt this is my most favorite indie game. This deserves 5 out of 5 or even 10 out of 10. I loved how this game was similar to Slender (and in my oppinion better than Slender) for future games you should make a game similar to “Amnesia: The Dark Decent” Thank you πŸ™‚

  • WaaghMan says:

Thanks to you for purchasing the game! πŸ™‚

  • Jack Salway says:

Just thought i would take the time to say that white noise is the best Indie/arcade game i have played and it deserves a 10/10. better than slender in my opinion. I have recently bought many of your games and they’re all amazing. Thanks for making these games milestone

  • [Dakm] says:

I think you guys should add some credit to AgentParsec (the creator of Slender) to the description, since your game is mostly based on his project. Not to mention, his game was free, and your game costs money. Pay at least some respect to him.

  • WaaghMan says:

In case we did, we would have added credit to Andrew Shouldice, the creator of Hide.

Anyway, we purposely avoided including any Slender related description on the game to avoid being bashed for getting additional credit from it (You get bashed if you include it, you get bashed if you don’t).

  • [Dakm] says:

I wouldn’t ask for credit, but you didn’n even attempt to do something different, except of a short backstory in the beginning. Your rip-off is pretty decent I should say (and it should be, since you’re asking money for it), but totally uninnovative. More objectives would be nice at least.
Talking about Hide, most of the features you’re using are obviously from Slender. A dark forest, the flashlight mechanics, the atmosphere, the main objective etc. Even though the basic concept of Hide shares the same objective, you’re obviously copying everything Slender with it’s other ideas. Again, pay some respect – people gonna buy your game just because it looks like Slender, not Hide.

  • WaaghMan says:

Just was pointing out that Slender is not the first game of this kind. Yeah, we created a clone of Slender for the Xbox because we saw an opportunity there (and many people that wanted to get Slender on Xbox).

As for innovation, we have an interesting one, you can see other people playing the game at the same time as you, and even hear their death screams. We’re not telling that feature because we wanted to check how people reacted to it without knowing they were other players: Most players get confused and try to follow each other or interact in some way, which was our main goal :).

You guys sould make an equivalent to SCP for Xbox! :O
